Actually, 'our' Scrub Jay is now the 'Western Scrub-jay', _Aphelocoma
californica_, not the 'Mexican Jay'. I believe the 'Mexican Jay' is a
former name for the southwestern Gray-breasted Jay (correct me if I'm
wrong).

For many of us, the split of orioles and towhees quickly adds two species
to many lists (without any real work!). Other points relevant to Cascadia
include:

Great Egret: moved into genus _Ardea_, formerly _Casmerodius_, so it's now
_Ardea alba_

Common Black-headed Gull renamed to Black-headed Gull

Our flicker (Northern Flicker) split from the desert southwest Gilded Flicker

Eurasian Skylark renamed to Sky Lark

Rufous-sided Towhee split (again!) back to Spotted Towhee (ours) and
Eastern Towhee. Spotted Towhee is _Pipilo maculatus_

Northern Oriole split (again!) back to Bullock's Oriole (ours) and Baltimore
Oriole, and Black-backed Oriole. Bullock's Oriole is _Icterus bullockii_
