A friend told me the following, and I thought you'd appreciate it.

"Yesterday, I was greeted by my neighbors when I got home from work. They
said that about 300 [unknown species] birds had landed on the wire that
crosses the street and provides my cable and phone service. The weight of
this flock of birds pulled the cables down into the street.

This nearly caused several traffic accidents, as people speed on the road
in front of my house, and because no one knew if they were power lines or
not. City Light responded quickly and tied the lines up out of the
street."

She went on to curse the birds, but I think she should curse the inept
line-stringers! :)

Cheers,

Susan
