Mark, you'll find the ABA birding finding guide A BIRDER'S GUIDE TO
SOUTHEASTERN ARIZONA a detailed description of the where-how-when-what of
SE AZ birding. The Sierra Vista wastewater ponds are about 3 miles east
of town (the Highways 90 and 92 junction) on Highway 90 on left side
before you cross Moson Road.

The San Rafael Grasslands are best approached from Pategonia. Take
Harshaw Road/Harshaw Canyon Road from the Post Office in downtown
Pategonia.......actually Pategonia is a village (Post Office is on street
parallel to and a block east of Highway 82; go north on this street to
post office (will be on left); Harshaw turnoff is the next right. As you
reach the low ridge into the grassland dropout, the view, especially in
morning light, must be one of the most breathtaking vistas in the world
(believe it!!!). Have a wonderful trip.
