After a brief visit to the bird sanctuary in Port Alberni,mid-Vancouver
Island, it was apparent that many migrants have recently arrived.

I was treated to the songs of many but most noteworthy was the song of
Yellow-rumped Warblers. 5 had arrived, with 4 being males and 1 female.
Interstingly, they were all "Audubon's", these are the first to disappear in
the fall, never overwintering and here they are the first ones to arrive
this spring even before the "myrtles".

Other arrivals:
Tree Swallows (2)
Sharp-shinned Hawk (adult)
Greater White-fronted Goose (2)
Killdeer (4)
Glaucous-winged Gull (1 in alternate plumage)
California Gull (1 in alternate plumage)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (3)
