I noticed in a post from Ray Korpi relating birds at an Oregon site,
Scappoose Bottoms, that an Alternate-plumaged Common Loon was with
Basic-plumaged birds, a sign that that species has begun its northbound
migration. Something to look for in the Basic-plumaged wintering flocks
further north.
