Kamiak Butte is a large, wooded butte located 12-15 north of Pullman, WA
on highway 27. It is a Whitman County park. Kamiak acts as a magnet for
migrating passerines because it is a wooded island in the middle of the
Palouse monoculture. Some years ago the local audubon chapter prepared a
checklist for the county that included something in excess of 130 birds.
