Hi tweeters,

As a spin-off on this thread, a discussion has arisen in my office
from this subject on quantities of birds. Watching the many crows out
the office windows, someone remarked that this must be the most common
bird in the whole world. I tied him (then "them", as others joined)
into the "dual citizen" thread on tweeters, and we wonder:

If some species are found all over the world (or northern
hemisphere, or wherever), are they more abundant in absolute
numbers than a "local" species? What is the most abundant bird in
the world? Would it be a pelagic, simply because there is more
ocean; but then wouldn't breeding come space into this computation?

Any comments, guesses, or does someone know? Thanks.
