On my early first light walks near the windmill area I have seen an
accipiter similarly described as you stated. Also, my class had spotted
an accipiter in the same area a month ago and they were able to get a
spotting scope on it. We had a definite call of an immature cooper's hawk,
COHA. On our afterschool walks we have seen an adult sharpie, SSHA, twice
in the tree/shrub lined fields near the boardwalk. We have yet to see a
falcon, however, kestrels and merlins I have seen in the park before.
