This weekend while watching activity at our backyard suet feeder, we had
lots of juncos and chickadees. Then we noticed a bunch of fidgety
(wouldn't hold still long enough to get a good sighting in the waning
shaded light) rather gray birds with buffy undersides and long tails
swarming the feeder like some oversized bushtits. There may have been a
hint of wingbars, but the birds never were still long enough to be sure.
My wife thought they looked like flycatchers. Has anyone any ideas? Do
flycatchers swarm like bushtits (I have no idea which, if any,
flycatcatchers they were)? Thanks for any guesses!
