There were 9 Violet-grn. Swallows in Winthrop on Mar. 16. Several West.
Bluebirds, here and higher at the s. end of Patterson Lake. Most unusual
was a solitary Killdeer here, calling its name as it flew north over the
snow-covered terrain! Yesterday (Mar. 18) the V.-g.'s were on the same
telephone line in Winthrop and there were 10-12 flying over the methow in
Twisp.
