Hello, this is Portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Alert. This recording
was made Thursday March 21. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
233-3976.

The distinctive male TUFTED DUCK continues to be seen at the Arlington Boat
Basin on the Columbia River. It flies back and forth across the river and
can be recorded in both states.

The BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER continues to be seen in Riverfront Park in
Roseburg. Lately it is being found near the seventh hole on the frisbee
golf course in the Park. A ROSS' GOOSE is nearby on a open field along
Stewart Parkway.

The NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD at the First Methodist Church of Tigard in
southwest Portland continues to be seen but the Dayton CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
apparently moved on.

A bright yellow billed YELLOW-BILLED LOON was at Garibaldi on Tillamook Bay
March 15. On March 17 another YELLOW-BILLED LOON was found on Alsea Bay
near the Waldport docks. Two OSPREY were at Florence March 16.

The March 16 offshore boat trip out to 20 miles west of Newport found few
sea birds. A few FULMARS, SOOTY and SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATERS and some adult
KITTIWAKES were seen. Only one BLACK-LEGGED ALBATROSS could be found.

The LEWIS' WOODPECKER continues to be seen along Oak Island Road on Sauvie
Island. The Island still has many geese, gulls, and SANDHILL CRANES.

The seasons first CINNAMON TEAL were near Amity March 17 and at Beaverton
March 18. A bright male RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER was in Forest Grove March 14
but did not remain.

Four ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS were in the Rogue Valley March 14. Another was
in Mt. Tabor Park in southeast Portland March 17.

Two male TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS were among a large mixed flock of blackbirds
and COWBIRDS near Wamic March 17. A SNOW GOOSE was nearby.

The SCRUB-JAY continues to be seen near Fossil.
