I don't know if this issue has been raised..although I think
I might have mentioned it last year..in any case, I don't remember
the outcome of the discussion..

There are some points about these exotic birds that pique my
curiosity..

What native species are these birds displacing? Is there any
data on this? Is this a serious problem? Will the populations
increase to make it difficult on other resident populations of
our *native* birds?

I think it's good that Fred & Mike are studying this and trying
to compile data, but maybe we'd be better off net them out of
here...if we can spend thousands of dollars to send a one-winged
albatross off by commercial carrier, perhaps we can also
deport these aliens..[see Randy Tate story in today's newspaper]

I realize I lightened this up a bit toward the end, but I am
curious as to the impact of these exotics..should they be treated
any differently from the huge hybrid ducks that were removed from
Green Lake because they were drowning the small females in the
mating process?
