Same west of Eugene - couldn't miss it. We're at valley floor level,
however outside the influence of city lights. Very smudgey looking glob with a
globe of light in the middle - very pretty shade of blue. Like Tom we tried
looking at it with the scope and had the same results. Much better with
binoculars.
I tried for some photos, but the exposure times were quite long so we'll see
how they turn out.
The tail is a bit hard to see when it's low on the horizon (we were out at
shortly after 10:00) but became much more visible later at night (1:15 or
so).
Very definitely worth the viewing!
