On the way over to check the Marymoor Park eagle nest, had a nice first year
Bald Eagle fly over the car. Glad there wasn't any other traffic around.
Still on the way to the park saw one of the adult Bald Eagles sitting in one
of its favorite trees. Stopped at the model airplane parking area and could
see a white head sitting in the nest. Last week when we checked, the bird was
sitting immediately adjacent to the nest. shall keep you informed of any
nesting progress that we see.

Stopped by Seattle Aquarium for the first time and outside the aquarium in
the water was surprised to see a Rhinocerous Auklet. Now I have to admit this
was an ID made with the naked eye since I didn't have any other optics
around. (later I saw that if I spent a quarter I could have a 20x scope all
to myself for 2 minutes.) Also saw many Red-necked Grebes looking very
red-necked. (There must be some appropriate, or even better some
inappropriate red-necked jokes but I can't think of any at the moment.)

Then stopped by Glazers Photo and drooled over a Nikon 500 mm f4 lens for
'only' $5000. My wife rescued me. Red-necked Grebes and a 500 mm lens. Great
combination.
