Subject: First swallow at Des Moines, WA marina

Folks,

Dashing this morning to catch bus on Marine View Drive just a little after
7AM, spotted a single tree swallow sitting on power lines. Assume it will
move on; no local summer resident swallows, yet. It has been cold and
windy here for several weeks; mostly a shift of salt water-winter
residents out.

Saw the comet last night from a dark corner of my deck, primarily the
glowing core with the surrounding corona (through binocs
is good; can easily spot with naked eye). Hard to see the tail with so
much light and air pollution, but still is awesome what we can see!

More when the birds decide to show up.
