At the trailer park sewage pond near Robinson Park in Moscow, we spotted
11 swans during lunch. They seem pretty restless, though, so if you
want to see them you might want to hurry. As for their
identity: they have black bills with no trace of yellow, a pinkish blush
about the face and neck. The bills seem to extend up to the eye. Grayer
(juveniles) have paler pinkish-grey bills. I don't have my guide with me and I
don't have a complete swan collection on the online guide (yet), but I
think they're Trumpeter Swans. Anyone that can give me an ID before 2:30
(Monday)
is free to email; we might try to go back and take their pictures around
4:00 or so. Also, saw a Varied Thrush at Robinson Park fighting with the
robins.

Thanks,
