We spent the weekend birding various Eastern WA loctions. Highlights are as
follows:

Black-backed Woodpeckers: 2 males and 2 females in the burn area of
Riverside Park in Spokane.

Pygmy Nuthatches and Red-Crossbills: Numerous in the ponderosa pines at
Turnbull NWR.

Trumpeter Swan: 2 at Turnbull NWR

Gray Partridge: 3 at the top of Webber Canyon in Benton County, south of Kiona.

Canyon Wren: 1 along the gravel road between Midway substation and Priest
Rapids Dam in Benton county. 2 Townsend's Solitaires in Yakima County along
this road.

Numerous Violet-green swallows also at Midway. At least 1 Tree Swallow
among them. An additional Cliff Swallow was seen.

18 Sandhill Crane at Scootney reservoir.

Eurasian Wigeon and Greater White-fronted Goose between Othello and Columbia
NWR reported by Bob Woodley were not relocated.

BTW: There was 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler in Leslie Groves Park, Richland
today. This is the first one we have observed locally since the cold snap.
