Interestingly, the Falcated Teal appears on the recent Karl Zeiss Checklist
of Canadian Birds. (published by Birder's Journal)IT was my understanding
that this is the only Canadian record, it would appear then that the bird
has been widely accepted as wild.

I was in Tofino on Sat. March 23 and the bird was not present nor were any
puddle ducks. All that remained was a scattering of Buffleheads. The teal
is either gone completely from the area or there is a possibility that the
flock has moved to another foraging site ie.Arakum flats
