I've seen wolves doing the same on an island near Bella Bella. The low
tides were just at sunrise and when we approached the beach on three
successive mornings it was covered with fresh holes and wolf tracks. One
morning we caught them in the act, but they sensed us immediately and left.
Clams do seem like a pretty easy source of food, with the added benefit of
being available through out the year.

He wrote more but there is some humor in the first line. It's included here
to highlight that there are now two Michael Kennedys on tweeters.
