Carla Hewitt, one of the alternate co-hosts on *Bird Talk*, is the
senior volunteer there and talks frequently to the Refuge personnel.
She tells me that the current target date for opening at least
part of the Refuge to the public is May 1st..and even that is
just a date they are shooting for.

We are paying daily attention to this situation here in Olympia
as we want access to that wonderful resource opened to us again
as soon as possible. There is a lot of interest in the politics of
putting it back together again..and a lot of discussion among the
local environmentalists and birders..as things unfold, we'll
keep the Tweets updated.
