Hi OBOLers,

Got this from the BirdBand list. I don't know that anyone is looking to =
spend a couple of months on the prairie learning bird ID up close and =
personal, but there's an opportunity here to learn bird-banding in =
Nebraska - just in case you are... :-)

Subject: Assistant bird bander wanted

Cedar Point Biological Station in western Nebraska is looking for
someone to assist in our ongoing bird banding project. Over 10,000
birds have been banded at the station in the last 5 years, many of
them neotropical migrants on spring migration. The Cedar Point area
is characterized by a large diversity of habitats, and as a result,
almost 300 species of birds are known from the area.

We are looking for someone who would like to get the experience to
receive a sub-permit under our master permit holder, and who might be
interested in returning for several years, taking over responsibility
for continuing the project. We can not pay a stipend, but room and
board will be provided from May 20 on until the end of June. Free room
can be provided earlier than that date.

If you are interested, please respond by e-mail to
jdarling at unlinfo.unl.edu, or call Joan Darling
at (402) 472-5977. For more information about Cedar Point, see our
home page on the Web at http://www.unl.edu/cedarpt
