Well, with all the posts about Rufous Hummers, I thought I'd throw in an
Anna's observation. A coworker of mine found a female incubating in
Discovery Park, Seattle, on March 19. The female was still on the nest as
of friday, so I would think the young would be hatching out any day, if
they haven't already. Another nest in the park was knocked down by the
wind sometime in the last week. Seems odd that a species of hummingbird
would routinely breed before the trees are even close to leafing out.
