We are in the second year of a two year study characterizing birds,
particularly Neotropical migrants, in habitats in Klickitat County. As
many of you know, this is a good birding area. I need some volunteer help
conducting point counts in our study areas. I would like folks to commit
to conducting at least 2-4 counts-which means probably 2-3 visits. For
those of you that work M-Fr, that potentially means a long drive Friday
afternoon to White Salmon where we have a field house established being
introduced to the study plot on Saturday and then surveying on Sunday.
You need to see the study site before you conduct point counts so that you
know where the points are.
There lots of good birds to see there: all the typical eastside species,
especially things like acorn woodpeckers, Lewis' woodpeckers, ash-throated
flycatchers, and yellow-breasted chats.

If you are interested in helping out, contact me. We need the most help in
June.
