I don't know about birds dispersing Prunus emarginata but I have seen
chipmunks chowing down on the fruit. They held the cherry in their paws
and removed the fleshy part with their teeth. What became of the seed
was not observed. Perhaps they store them or maybe they drop to the
ground.
