Visited Bowerman Basin and Ocean Shores on Monday, 4/29. The high tide was a
pretty low one, and the closest roosts were considerably far from the point
at Bowerman. I estimated about 10K Dunlin, 60-100K Western Sandpipers,
several hundred Dowitcher sp., and small numbers of Red Knot and
Semipalmated Plover. The banding crew there (Louise Vicencio among them)
said the biggest pulse came through after the storm on Thursday, and that
numbers had been diminishing since. A high of 375 birders were on the point
on Sunday, about 20 on Monday. The headline on the Sunday Aberdeen Daily
World said, "Where are the Birds?"

Ocean Shores afterwards was generally unproductive. Not much visible behind
the Sewage Lagoon except for a large raft of several hundred Shoveler. A
Wandering Tattler was reported by others on the jetty. Through the scope I
saw continuous flights north of Scoter and Loon sp. during the 30 minutes I
spent at the jetty.
