It's probably dangerous to start telling fish/bird stories, but I have
to chime in with mine: My wife and I were fishing for bonita on a party
fishing boat off the southeran Calif. coast. A nice sized fish grabbed
my line and started heading west. It didn't get too far when a brown
pelican swooped down, scooped it up and started heading south. I fought
the pelican for a good 10 minutes before I reeled him close enough that
one of the crew could snip my line close to his beak. I didn't land the
fish, but I still got a special award for the "Catch of the Day", an
endangered species at that.

Now let me tell you about the time I was fishing for giant marlin off
Cabo San Lucas. There I was in the 5th hour battling this monster on a
fly rod with a 1 pound test leader when this huge eagle.....;-)
