Tweets,
Even when the wintering waterbirds leave East Bay (Budd Inlet), it's
worth doing a survey. I went for a low tide census at 16:30 today, counted a
scattering of Western Sandpipers, then came upon a *Snowy Egret* along a
channel edge. Wow! Golden slippers!
It remained in the area for an hour and a half, allowing two observers
to respond to my phone calls, then flew to trees near the southeast corner
of the bay. When last seen at 18:05, it was still perched in a tree along
East Bay Drive. With any luck it will be back on the mud flats for the
morning low.
