Just a quick note. We went out on the NAMBC today and were
fortunate enough to see a group of yellow warblers just east of Kendrick,
Idaho. Really beautiful birds, took our breath away. We read their
description in one of our guides which said, "Frequent Cowbird Host."
Now, you must undrstand, my wife and I haven't seen any Cowbirds since we
used to live in North Carolina. We laughed and said, "Well, these
warblers are the smart ones, cause they're hiding in the Northwest...."
Then, about 5 minutes later, we came across (quite aptly) a bunch of small
birds hanging out by some cows feeding at a trough. Sure
enough....Brown-headed Cowbirds...:-)

Hope everyone had a good Migratory Bird Day (in spite of the
rain!)
