Yesterday was truly a rare experience...it began in early
afternoon with an invasion of Western Tanagers..there must
have been 20+ and they were everywhere at once. Mingled in
with them were Yellow Rumps, Wilson's, Orange-Crowned
and 2 very bright Yellow Warblers. As I was scanning the
wooded gully behind my house, I also picked up at least
one Pacific Slope Flycatcher, Hutton's Vireo, and one
greenish/yellow warbler I couldn't positively identify.
I didn't see it with the same clarity I was able to view
the others..and of course, *the usual suspects* --Am. Crow
Red Shafted Flicker, 2 kinds of Chicadees and my tailess
male robin (with an attitude)..he was so blown out by all
the activity he gave up trying to run 'em all out of the
area..The Yellow Warblers were so bright that *electric*
describes the effect..it all happened at once and the
warblers were all first time birds for my back yard
(except for the Wilson's which showed up a couple days ago)

Couple this with the swirling Swifts (see Burt Guttman's
descriptive post) and it was one incredible birding day!
