Three of us had a delightful time birding the Methow (in Northcentral
WA) yesterday, May 11 for the NA Migration Count. Below are the 100
species seen. I was particularly thrilled to see 8 Wilson's
Phalaropes at Little Twin Lake. The two pair of Harlequins under the
Winthrop bridge were also a special treat. It was a point of interest
that a number of the species we encountered had evidented just arrived
in the valley- none of us had seen them previously this year. These
included Western kingbird, House wren, Solitary and Warbling vireos,
and Wilson's and MacGillivray's warblers.
