Wednesday (5/15) at Bottle Beach (Gray's Harbor) yielded nine species of
shorebirds:7 Ruddy Turnstones, 2 Whimbrels, 600+ Western Sandpipers, 140
Black-bellied Plovers, 500+ Dunlin, 3 Semipalmated Plovers, 2
Sanderlings, 350+ Red Knots, and 12 SB Dowitchers.
In contrast, Thursday at Leadbetter Point (Long Beach Peninsula) was a
bust. Absolutely nothing. I think Spartina may be to blame...
