trying to get the word out on the
get-the-word-to-STARBUCKS project. Can you think of
anything via the web that might work? Here's the

Good news for coffee drinkers! You can enjoy your
vice and save birds, too.

Traditional coffee plantations provide badly needed
winter habitat for warblers, vireos, tanagers,
flycatchers and other mogratory species that spend the
summer in North America. Coffee is a SHADE-LOVING
shrub and grows well when managed under a canopy of

Company to include SHADE-GROWN coffee in their
environmental commitments and to develop a line of
SHADE-GROWN coffee friendly to migratory birds along
the lines of the research done by the Smithsonian
Migratory Bird Center. Also let them know that we=B9re
willing to pay a premium for this coffee so that money
can go to further research and support for small
farmers on the wintering grounds of migratory birds.
