In the green belt we saw two Dark Eyed Juncos(DEJU). One of them had
more brown on the back. We think that they might have a nest around the
area. We followed them until one of them swooped down and almost hit us.
We watched it fly up to its mate.

As we were birding we started getting into our Shakespeare lines. When we
had been birding for about half-an-hour I started singing a song from the
movie "The Lorax". After a little while Dean said that he would like to
use it in our Shakespeare play. So that was our little distraction. Good
Birding.

On sunday May 19th I went to visit my dad's office in downtown Seattle. I
wanted to see the PEFA (peregrine Falcons) so my father took me to a
room where I could see the building that has their nest. I waited a
while until a big shadowy figure flew to the nest site. I looked in the
binoculars and found out that it was a peregrine falcon that was going
to feed its young. Soon I saw another shadowy figure. It was another PEFA.
I got so excited. At the end of my Falcon watching I saw one of the falcons
fly off and catch a pigeon which was in its talons.

I heard that the 4th chick that hatched died two days later. Why
did it die?

We will be out for the next four days camping at LaPush for the three
foot low-tide. Hope we see many birds and animals! We will write next week.

We aren't doing much birding lately, as you have heard. We are mostly
putting our attention on Shakespeare. We are inviting you to see a
performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" on June 18th and 19th from 7-9pm.
Please respond by e-mail if you want more information.
