This past weekend Jo Roberts & I did some casual birding along the beach
south of Foulweather Bluff, Kitsap Pen. In addition to the usual suspects
(crows, robins, etc.) the more interesting birds were: Common Loon (5),
Pacific Loon (1), Red-throated Loon (1), all basic plumage; Horned Grebes
(10), Surf & White-winged Scoters (ca 50 at ), Red-breasted Mergansers (7),
Buffleheads (24), Common Goldeneye (pr), Scaup sp. (8), Dunlin (1 flock),
and in the Nature Conservancy Sanctuary pond: Hooded Merganser (2 pr),
Marsh Wren (1). The Western Grebes were all around on the Hansville/Point
No Point side.
