I zipped into the Snakeway parking lot on my way to work and
immediately saw a bird silhouette in a snag in the lot next door..
thought it might be a dove at first..closer look with my under-
the-seat-always-at-the ready 7x20's revealed a Cooper's Hawk..
immature and male..I watched the this bird for a bout 15 minutes
before a crow went by headed over head..it did a double take on
the hawk, but left it alone..Aha, I thought...smart bird..
about 10 minuted into it I had the bins on the bird when it
suddenly flew..4 crows and then a 5th came to take over this
snag...the Coop went off to another snag leaving the perch to
the crows..that dad blamed first crow went and rounded up his
buddies...meanwhile, this Coop has got to eat to get through
the winter..tough going for these birds...nice unobstructed
view for a while..made my day..doggone crows..
