You have the almost exact question I have, that is, where is good birding
in Texas. Our trip won't be until Feb or March, 1997, but I would like to find
a place near the border of New Mexico, if possible.

I'm planning a trip to Texas for Thanksgiving and hope to do alot of
birding (In addition to that big juicy Turkey).

Plan to go down to Aransas and see the Whooping Cranes, but most of our
time will be spent in the Austin area.

Does anyone have and tips on good places to go?
