Hi tweeters,

I am a member of the long-range planning committee of the Garry Oak
Woodlands section of Government House Gardens in Victoria, B.C. We are
putting together a presentation of the Government House grounds and
buildings for the Regional Green/Blue Spaces Strategy. Great Blue Herons
nest on these grounds and we have been referring to their nests as a
rookery. We have no idea if this is the correct term and are hoping someone
out there will know what it is.

I was also wondering if anyone has a slide or photograph of these
birds that would positively identify them as being in the Government House
grounds. We have a good slide of them, but it just shows the birds in the
treetops and it could have been taken anywhere. If anyone has such a slide
or photo we would gladly reimburse them for it. You could mail me direct at
cfryer at pacificcoast.net if such a slide or photo exists, or I can be reached
at (250)479-7927.

Thanks in advance,

Catherine
