A SAS field trip to Spencer Island on Nov 9th was highlighted by sightings
of an American Bittern, a Northern Shrike, and a flock of Northern Flickers.
We were studying Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers (one each - good comparisons),
when the flickers started flying into view, one or two at a time until we
had 9 or 10 in sight at one time. All were red-shafted, both males and females.
