Thanks to all who responded. I'll pass on to my group your comments on
rookery versus heronry and let them take their pick. About how long the
herons have nested in the Government House grounds, I am sure there are
long-time birders in Victoria who will hopefully respond to this question.
I have been volunteering there for 3 years and they have been there at least
that long. They unfortunately provide food for the bald eagles every spring.
