Since I posted the sighting of the redpolll/albino finch, I've been
following the discussion. The bird has still not reappeared, so I've not
been able to verify any impressions that I originally had, or look at it
with the benefit of Tweeter's responses under my belt.
One thing that I'm now thinking about is this:

I'm not a master birder.....probably fit more in the intermediate class. In
identifying a bird that I'm not familiar with, I narrow the possibilities
down and then base my conclusion on which bird would be the most probable,
given the circumstances. Certainly, if I had had the oppurtunity to view the
bird for a greater length of time, there would be more to work with. But,
nothing I could find in my bird books were any closer than Common Redpoll.
Would it have been more probable for me to have seen a Common Redpoll than an
albino finch? Just wondered.
Does albinism occur in certain birds more frequently that others? There was
just a post mentioning an albino bewick's wren.
