I too would like a book that gives bird weights, or ranges of weights.

Re snowy owls, you guys must be right at the end of the pipeline. We're not
getting any out of place snowies in Alaska this year. About 3 years ago, when
we did have an influx, 4 of them were captured at emaciation weights of 2 lbs
and brought into Bird TLC. At that weight, they are passive enough to let
themselves be picked up. Our present education bird weighs about 4 lbs and we
think it would have to be a very large snowy to tip the scales at 5 lbs. We saw
that newspaper story also and all laughed at the 8 lbs cited.
