There was a picture of a snowy owl on the rooftop of a house on Roseberry
Avenue in Victoria, BC this morning in today's Times Colonist newspaper. I
then phoned the Victoria Natural History Society's RBA and they reported one
seen flying over John Dean Park on Sunday which is near the Victoria
Airport. I didn't know if someone had reported these owls to Kelly yet.

On another note I still have 6 Steller's Jays eating peanuts and everything
else in my back yard. One is missing it's tail, perhaps just missed being a
meal. Will this tail grow back? And did these birds know we would be
having this cold start to our otherwise rainy winters? I also saw a
Red-shafted Flicker on the Douglas fir tree this morning.
