SNOWY OWLS continue to be widely reported. Here are a few of the sightin=
gs: The University District in=20
Seattle on the 18th, Jetty Island in Everett had 3 on the 17th, one on a =
building near the Kingdome between=20
Alaskan Way and Pier 36, the Big Ditch Access had 8 on the 17th, and Boun=
dary Bay produced 16 on the 17th.

Most of the places where the Snowys are hanging out are also producing ot=
her raptors, including SHORT-EARED=20
OWLS, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, PEREGRINE FALCONS, and others.

The immature male COMMON EIDER has been seen through the 17th in west Van=
couver, B.C. Call the Vancouver=20

Large flocks of SNOW GEESE have arrived in the Skagit area. One flock is=
near Boe Road near Stanwood. Also=20
near Stanwood are hundreds of SWANS of both common species, an EARED GREB=
E continues to be seen at the=20
Stanwood Sewage Ponds along with thousands of ducks.

A BARRED OWL was found in north Seattle on the 16th at Shoreview Park nea=
r the tennis courts, but it couldn'=92t=20
be relocated on the 17th.

On the east side of the mountains on the 17th were 5 AMERICAN TREE SPARRO=
WS at a pond just inside the main=20
gate at the Yakima Training Center. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was there, also. =
The Training Range also produced 16=20
LONG-EARED OWLS, a PINE GROSBEAK, and a GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCH. A SAGE=
GROUSE flew over US 82 at milepost=20
16 on the 16th. 300 SNOW BUNTINGS were found on the Colville Plateau on =
the 16th.
