Hello, this is Portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Report. This recording
was made Thursday November 27. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 233-3976.

The BLUE JAY that has been in Condon for several weeks continues to be
seen. The bird moves throughout the town visiting bird feeders. For updated
information contact David Jones in Condon at 541-384-4202.

An adult gray phased GYRFALCON was observed November 25 along Kinney Lake
Road about six miles southeast of Joseph in northeastern Oregon.

SNOWY OWLS reported during the week included the two birds along the beach
on the Bayocean Peninsula at Tillamook Bay; a secretive bird at the Salem
Airport; the bird at Grell Airport near Tangent; and another a few miles
farther south on the west side of Highway 99W along Bell Plain Road.
Another SNOWY OWL was seen and photographed November 12 near Ione in Morrow
County.

A RUDDY TURNSTONE and one or two ROCK SANDPIPERS were among a flock of
BLACK TURNSTONES and SURFBIRDS on the North Jetty of the Siuslaw River near
Florence all week. On November 24 some RED PHALAROPES were with them. A
first year plumaged GLAUCOUS GULL was south of Seal Rock State Park
November 24. That day an OLDSQUAW was at Yaquina Bay. The six ROCK
SANDPIPERS continue to be seen near the gift shop at Depoe Bay.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE, a COMMON LOON, and an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER were at
Smith Lake in North Portland November 25. Up to 1000 TUNDRA SWANS have been
in the Forest Grove-Hillsboro area all week. The TRUMPETER SWANS are now
returning to the Maple Grove area near Airlie in Polk County.

The SNOW BUNTING continues to be seen on the dam at Fern Ridge Reservior.

An EMPIDONAX FLYCATCHER was observed November 25 along the Deschutes River
near Bend. It was believed to be either a Hammond's or Least Flycatcher.

On November 24 a female OLDSQUAW was on a lake along Antone Road in Wheeler
County. Three TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS were among a mixed blackbird flock at
the Prineville Sewage Ponds November 23.

An adult MEW GULL was in the Klamath Falls area November 16. On November 22
a THAYER'S GULL, six HERRING GULLS, two GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS, and four
BONAPARTE'S GULLS were in the Klamath Falls area.

A BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was near the Enterprise Fish Hatchery November 22.
A flock of about 100 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES was at Wallowa Lake November
24. A late BLUE-WINGED TEAL was along Crow Creek Road south of Enterprise
the next day.
