Kelly:

I swear I've been to Damon Point and that it is just where
DEEJAM says it is (east of the marina), but two maps that I've looked at
label this piece of land "Protection Island", which may be why you can't
find it. Perhaps Damon Point refers to the tip of "Protection Island".
Alternatively, my memory may be scrambled. Anyway, there is this
interesting gravel road out on this point of land (whatever it is
called). From town take Point Brown Ave to its end at Discovery Ave.
Right across from the intersection is the marina. Turn right and watch
for the gravel road almost immediately on the left. There is a sign, but I
seem to remember missing the turnoff the first time. When we went last
New Year's on a wet windy day we didn't see too many birds, but we did
see harbor seals.
