Hi,

I want to thank all the kind birders I met during my visit to the
Seattle area.

>From mid-September to end-November I joined three ELWAS field trips
(Montlake Fill, Nisqually NWR, and Skagit Flats) and two Saturday
morning trips around Green Lake.

I saw many different birds, exactly 100 species were identified with
certainty.

A few others could not be identified with certainty, e.g. the
black-billed swans we saw on the ELWAS field trip to Skagit Flats,
were they Trumpeter Swans or were they Tundra Swans?

Of the 100 species, I've seen 28 in Europe so 72 of the species were
new to me. I haven't expected that number before I went to Seattle.
And it would not have been possible to see and identify that large
number of birds without the help from the many kind people I met on
the field trips I attended.

I really enjoyed my stay.

On the other hand it was nice to be back home. I haven't exactly been
birding yet but during my first two days in Denmark I've seen:

Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus)
Common Black-headed Gull (Larus ridibundus)
Woodpigeon (Columba palumbus)
Collared Dove (Streptopelia decaocto)
Eurasian Blackbird (Turdus merula)
Hooded Crow (Corvus corone cornix)
Rook (Corvus frugilegus)
Black-billed Magpie (Pica pica)
Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)
Eurasian Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula)

Nice to see "old friends" again ;-)
