I did the Spencer Island "scene" ;^) yesterday for the first time.
Some of The highlights included

1) Harlan's Hawk. Probably a male, based on size. He was perched in a snag
across the channel on the east side of the island.

2) Rough Leg Hawk. Flying overhead (South). Probably also an adult male,
based on markings.

3) A small group of Banded Kingfishers hunting and squabling over territory.
Nice place to see these lovely little birds.

4) One adult female and one immature Northern Harrier. Hunting and soaring.

5) First-year Bald Eagle soaring with a pair of very-light, adult Red Tail
Hawks (male and female).

6) A work crew of inmates from the Department of Corrections, all carrying
machetes (they were clearing brush, I hope... ;^). All males, maturity
questionable.
