ditto the above...except, I spent the weekend in George on
the Gorge...my hawk count was:

While there and including the trip back, I saw 4 merlins,
18 redtails, one of which was nearly black and immature,
2 Swainys, 10 kestrels, two Cooper's Hawks, one Sharpshin
Hawk, a prairie falcon, an osprey and a few UFO's..

just out of Cle Elem I turned off at the exit for Salmon
la Sac lake, and drove in to look at the area..about half
way up the hill, a hawk glided down from the uphill side
to land in the top of a fir on the downhill side. I pulled
over and stopped and got out the bins..and there was
an *adult goshawk* surveying the area!! that made the trip..
I had only seen one other adult gos in the wild and that was up on
Diamond Head at a hawk counting and banding operation
a couple years ago, so this was quite a highlight..
