In response to Rick Romea's question about binoculars in tropical
forests ...

I've spent about half my life birding in tropical forests in Panama
with the same pair of Nikon 8 X 40 binoculars and have never had
problems with fogging inside until recently. And then it's only been
a problem if I insisted on trying to bird in drizzling rain. Zeiss
binoculars would be much better sealed than my old Nikons, I'd think,
so you shouldn't have a problem. Just keep them as dry as you can.
I also keep Dri-erite (sp?) wrapped in a knotted double layer of
socks in a ziplock bag and put the binoculars in there when not in
use. Or silica gel would work too and might be less powdery than the
Dri-erite. I don't know if you'll have electricity there, but a
small hair dryer is a great remedy for fogged binoculars, as I
recently discovered.
