There was one at Discovery Park for a year or more, could always be found
by looking for the biggest, noisiest group of crows harassing it (how does
*anything* else manage to live in the city with all the crows?).

That's the only one I've seen in Seattle in almost 30 years. I once saw
one on hwy. 520 in Bellevue, otherwise the next place you see them in that
direction is east of Issaquah. I've never seen one between Seattle and
Olympia, but they become more common when you head west from Olympia. I
guess I've seen a few at Nisqually, too. To the north in the lowlands, you
see them in Bellingham, occasionally farther south on I-5, and regularly
but in small numbers on Whidbey Island and Skagit Flats.
